Manda foundation 2019

Manda Foundation started in 2012 by supporting the setting up a garden in Mwangwei (Kenya). The aim is to show the local population together with Kenyan employees that horticulture can offer people a better life. A group of volunteers from the Netherlands went to Kenya again in October to carry out various activities there. This time a "nursery" was built with a roof made of transparent corrugated sheets so that the plants which had been sown there could be planted out after the rain season. We have supported this project.

Ben Droog 2019

Last year the school received a visit from "The ministry of education". The premises were in such a state that Diana was summoned to make improvements before the end of the year. If no action was taken, the school would be closed.
The Manda Foundation has again visited Kenya this year; I myself could not come along, but I did give them a sum of money to improve the premises. With that amount of money and a very nice contribution from another benefactor, the outside of the premises could be provided with a layer of plaster. As you can see on the photo, that is a big improvement. But .... the money has run out and the inside has not yet been plastered; the floor is also dusty. Applying mats would already be a big improvement.

You understand that the kindergarten is close to my heart; I would be very sorry if the decision had to be made to close the school. Diana is a super enthusiastic teacher who, with the limited resources at her disposal, knows how to bring the children to great enthusiasm and provides them with a pleasant teaching time. I grant her, her colleagues and the children a school that is well-equipped by Kenyan standards. The application of plastering of the premises on the inside and the installation of floor mats involves an amount of approximately € 750.00. With this letter I appeal to the Auxilia foundation to sponsor the kindergarten of Diana with a nice sum of money. I am sure that we will make her, and with her her colleagues and the 75 children, very happy.

Jolinda Zuurbier - april 2019

(Jolinda Zuurbier would go to Uganda in April 2020 through the organization IBO Nederland to help building water tanks and sanitary buildings. You will understand that that journey could not take place. We hope that she will be able to make the trip in the future.)

Jolinda Zuurbier is going through the IBO Netherlands Organisation to Uganda in April 2020 to help build water tanks, sanitary buildings based on water bottles as a foundation. She gave an impressive story during a meeting. Enough for us to sponsor her.

“In particular, we work practically together with the people for whom we will build. In the meantime, there is often also room to, for example, organize small activities with the children or visit a school. Our group stays a relatively short period of 10 days and then this is easy to plan.

The project that the group will undertake is to use water bottles as building blocks so that the environment is less burdened and waste is used sustainably. We work together with local volunteers. The IBO organization arranges food and shelter for us. We fly over Entebbe and then have to travel 100km (is also arranged by IBO) to this project”.

Cathedral Itaguai - 2019

K1

Father Sjaak applied for help to repair the roof of the cathedral of Itaguai (Rio de Janeiro).

“The corrugated iron roof which I installed over 25 years ago is now completely worn out by rust and exposure to great heat. It is in urgent need of replacement. In short  the roof must be replaced as quickly as possible to prevent greater damage from leaks in the underlying supporting structure and interior. The church is in a poor neighbourhood and  this project is a heavy burden for its own parishioners.”

They hope to be ready before the rainy season (October). Padre Eduardo, the current pastor will send us photo material. We have decided to make a contribution for this repair.

For a purpose - June 2019

Wonderful news from the Netherlands. Last weeks the schools "de Schelp" and "de Werenfridus" from Wervershoof (Netherlands), have been working hard to collect money to fund the current and upcoming projects from our organization. They've been raising money in different creative ways. In cooperation with different shop owners from Wervershoof, a Bingo has been held. People could enjoy the evening while enjoying the homemade cupcakes and cookies. They completely filled a transport van with returnable bottles which have been refunded at the supermarket. Some kids been walking from house to house, to do chores, and all this to help us and Nepal with current and future projects.

Big thanks to Auxilia-Brasili-ja. Auxilia-Brasili-Ja is an organisation based in Werversoof (Netherlands), who supports small organisations, to achieve the ‘Mileniumgoals’, set by 189 countries around the world. For more information see link: http://www.auxili-ja.nl/
Together with Wouter de Groot, they’ve been to the schools, to hold presentations about our organization and out projects in Nepal. The raised money have been doubled by Auxilia-Brasili-Ja which set the amount on a beautiful 6318,50 Euro's! The amount that the kids raised is amazing, deep respect.

We can be proud as organization, for there is so much support for our projects, from so many different parts of the world.
Big thanks to all the donors and sponsors, to trust and believe in our organization and projects. Also the people who we haven't mentioned in this message. Every small amount is worth a lot in a country like Nepal. We will make sure that the money will be used well.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
