The block of ice is coming!
Within two weeks there will be a cubic metre of water, containing a weighted baking tin, at Veldboer-Eenhoorn in the freezer room. If everything goes well, and we assume that, the whole thing will come friday August 19 to Wervershoof, to the garden of the presbytery. The cubic metre of ice will remain there during the fair until the moment the baking tin touches the bottom of the pallet. You can guess when that will happen. The time can be indicated by transferring 5 Euro, or more (10, 15, 20 Euro), to account NL16 RABO 0368948870 in the name of Auxilia-Brasili-ja.
Do indicate at which time(s) the stone, in your opinion, touches the pallet. Also make sure your address or phone number is clearly marked. (Example: 17-08: 16.23 hrs. Kees Ooijevaar, 0228582203). You can also indicate times during the fair. We do our best to follow the process via a webcam at www.auxilia-brasili-ja.nl
Why did you choose a baking tin?
Twelve years ago it was an army shoe and 7 years ago a brick? It has now become a baking tin because we want to raise money for the Bake for Life Foundation. Bake for Life builds bakeries in the African countries of Uganda and Kenya. Disabled people, orphans, child soldiers, single mothers and people who have had to leave school due to circumstances at a young age work here and learn the baker's trade. Learning this traditional baker's craft gives these people an honest existence. By baking they earn a salary with which they can support themselves. (www.bakeforlife.nl)
