Cathedral Itaguai - 2019

Father Sjaak applied for help to repair the roof of the cathedral of Itaguai (Rio de Janeiro).

“The corrugated iron roof which I installed over 25 years ago is now completely worn out by rust and exposure to great heat. It is in urgent need of replacement. In short  the roof must be replaced as quickly as possible to prevent greater damage from leaks in the underlying supporting structure and interior. The church is in a poor neighbourhood and  this project is a heavy burden for its own parishioners.”

They hope to be ready before the rainy season (October). Padre Eduardo, the current pastor will send us photo material. We have decided to make a contribution for this repair.
