Newsletter December 2017
Dear people
Time flies. It is again the last month of the year, a month with all kinds of festive events.
As mentioned earlier, we have said goodbye to Pastor Jan Suidgeest, who will enjoy Voorhout for his well-deserved emeritus. We will be happy to meet him regularly in the Wervershoof. Meanwhile, I invited myself to a meeting with our "new" pastor, chaplain Peter Piets. It was a very nice introduction and I immediately invited him for a meeting of Auxilia-Brasili-ja!
On December 16th we will be at the Christmas market in Wervershoof. We hope that many people will come and that the weather will be good.
As usual, pastor Sjaak will be in the Werenfridus church at the New Year's Eve celebration. At the end of the service there will be a collection at the door and we will take the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
Every year, Vera and I meet with friends and look back at the past year.
What has the year brought us all in happy and less happy moments. It is always good to look back at what has happened over the past year. We are already living at a fast pace and then "looking back" is a very nice moment. We also talk about expectations for the coming year. I always find this a nice moment on the last evening of the year.
As Auxilia-Brasili-ja! We can also look back at last year. We have been able to support a number of projects (Friends of Kagondo, Manda Foundation, Wouter de Groot), we delivered a great number of Mother's Day and Father's Day breakfasts and last but not least, we are in the final phase of our evaluation. In addition, we have been able to present our new slogan some months ago.
And then the expectations for the coming year.
The first major activity has been planned. On Sunday, April 8th we will organize our third Food Fair. It has been a while since we've done that (2014). Once again we have the cooperation from Frank Bot of "The Fortuin" in Wervershoof. In addition the Mother's Day and Father's Day breakfast and the Christmas Market at the end of the year.
We hope to present our updated website at the end of this year, but certainly at the beginning of the new year. To be honest, it was time. Our webmaster (Digital Dreams) is starting this coming week.
I would like to return to Wouter de Groot's project.
"After just over a month of extensive research, we can proudly announce that we have found a suitable place to launch our project: Jhulneta Rukum District".
They will not, as previously announced, build a school but a community center. The reason for this is that the government has already started distributing funds to the schools affected by the earthquake. They also saw that schools had already started reconstruction. They are now busy with the preparations for the centre. It's not easy to get all the materials there where they are needed. Materials will have to be carried there.
The pictures indicate where the community center will be built and how it will happen (which are pictures of a previous project).
This will be the place! These are the people!
All of the above projects we have been able to support thanks to your contribution. Thank you very much for that.
Finally, I wish you a very happy and beautiful Christmas, a good ending of the year and all the best wishes for the new year.
Sincerely
Kees Ooijevaar (Secretary)
