Newsletter January 2018

As a member of Brasili-Ja/Auxilia, since the foundation of the team in 1986, I now follow her activities from a distance. 3 years ago I joined the Supervisory Board of a large Dutch development organisation called Cordaid, which is based in The Hague. It is very interesting to see how much a large and a small organisation have in common; "The passion to meet each other in the doing of good" , as Pope Francis calls it, keeps us focused on the needs around us. From different segments of society, forces unite to keep the most vulnerable people and our planet as intact as possible.
What I admire most of all in a small organisation as Brasili-Ja/Auxilia is the low-cost approach from the team. All members are volunteers and work with very few means to achieve the greatest results. Obviously, things are more complicated in a larger organisation. It is clear that large and small organisations need each other in order to make a difference on a local and international level, there where it is necessary. Our small Brasili-Ja/Auxilia does great things in all humility. She doesn't only contribute to the community but actually is one herself.
Groeten, Greetings
Fr. Sjaak de Boer

A little late, but not less sincere: the best wishes for the new year, a year in which lots of things will happen. We hope that it will be a very good year for you all.
Continue to believe in miracles, in love, in peace, in happiness.
Keep believing in PEOPLE.
We wish you a loving 2018

saskia Tieken 1In the last month of the previous year, we received a request for sponsorship from Saskia Tieken. Saskia has created the "Help Midwives in Kenya" Foundation with the main goal of reducing maternal and child mortality in Kenya. This goal is achieved by providing underprivileged students in Kenya with a (partial) scholarship for the obstetrics training. They provide, among other things, obstetric care, access to family planning, health education and referral if necessary. All this with the aim of giving the communities the tools to provide care for the pregnant women, babies and maternity women. In addition, the person themself receives a good education, so that an income is created and the family can be maintained.

The website has been completely renewed, thanks to Digital Dreams. It has become a lot clearer and more accessible. Please take a look. On the website you can now clearly find out how you can apply for support for a project.

promobeursOn Sunday, February 11, 2018, a PROMO exhibition
will take place in Wervershoof. We will certainly be there to promote, not only ourselves, but also the Manda Foundation. Why, in addition to ourselves, Manda Foundation? To make a long story short: the proceeds from the FOODFAIR of 8 April 2018 go to that Foundation. We have supported the Foundation a number of times in the past (the last time in October 2017). For more info: (www.auxilia-brasili-ja.nl) or (www.stichtingmanda.nl).
