Manda Foundation 2026

Thanks to Auxilia's contribution, raised during "World of Taste" (a tribute to Kees Schouten), the students, in collaboration with the specialist teachers, were able to build an outdoor kitchen. A beautiful outdoor kitchen now stands on the grounds of the school, the Manda Vocational Training Centre. The interior still needs some renovations and will be put into use after the summer holidays.

The old situation: A boarding school (a type of school) is located on the grounds, where more than thirty girls stay. During the school week, they sleep and eat there.

The girls have converted the rear of this space into a kitchen. They cook for themselves and the teaching staff. Cooking is done in the usual way, using charcoal. This produces a lot of smoke and particulate matter.
Because the kitchen is openly connected to the dormitory, it is a very unsafe situation that we would like to improve by building an outdoor kitchen. A plot of land next to the dormitory is available for the construction of an outdoor kitchen. This has now been completed.
